THE PERFECT SIZE ???
In the January 2012 issue of PLUS Model Magazine, plus-size model Katya Zharkova is featured in an explosive editorial where thought provoking statistics and statements are revealed.
Flying around the internet over the last 24 hours the story that various news outlets have called “shocking,” “controversial,” “scary” and “provocative.”
Why are they so stunned? According to the coverage, it’s not the fact that the article includes a photo spread of the Russian plus size model Katya Zharkova posing nude or that in some of the photos she is shown embracing an emaciated-looking woman, also nude. (After all, Italian Vogue’s June 2011 issue already went there, minus the thin woman.)

What apparently floored them are the article’s claims that the average fashion model weighs 23 percent less than the average woman and that “most runway models meet the Body Mass Index physical criteria for Anorexia.”
Actually there is no serious data supporting this fact at all.
But I have to admit that every day we seer zillions of pictures that shows us an idealization of women who could seriously benefit from a sandwich!
We’ve probably to some degree become desensitized to it, or think we have and do not care, which is perhaps why we don’t do more to fix the situation.
We live in a culture that exalts women who look like they don’t allow themselves food. Most of women size zero that I know eat NOTHING at all…. they feed themselves on an apple. Let me tell you, the sad reality is that they will pay the price later.
My friend told me, one time… -”I rather live a shorter life and being able to wear anything I like, rather than eat normally and being slightly overweight”….. well, that is her choice.
But now I see her looking much older than me, the proof that her skin needed more fat the 10 past years….
This was me at age 28, exactly 20 years ago, in the Canarian Islands, (African continent) where I lived during 5 beautiful years. I was at my best weight and healthy and I was eating normally. (photo by Marca)
Best advise, eat healthy, and KEEP MOVE!
Roberto Cavalli Spring/Summer 2012 ads campaign
WOW! I love the new Roberto Cavalli Spring/Summer 2012 ads campaign. Such amazing floor length gowns. Very Miss Universe!
Glamorously featuring supermodels: Bristish Naomi Campbel American Kristen McMenamy, 47, British Karen Elson, 32, and Dutch newcomer Daphne Groeneveld, 17.

One would hardly believe that there is 30 years between Kristen (left) and Daphne (right)!!!
Love to see different kind of beauty, different generations showing pure fashion to the world. Well done Roberto, once again!
See these pictures of a party in Milano when Roberto invited Riyo. Nice memories for sure!

New Miss America crowned – Laura Kaeppeler
23-year-old Laura Kaeppeler (KEP’-ler) from Wisconsin won the Miss America pageant Saturday in Las Vegas after singing opera and strutting in a white bikini and black beaded evening gown.
She is so pretty and fresh looking. Good choice!
But the most interesting news for me is that she won after sharing her personal life drama of her Father being in jail.
While her competitors pushed platforms including promoting the health benefits of milk and protecting the environment, Laura Kaeppeler (KEP’-ler) said she wants children of incarcerated adults to feel less alone, to have mentoring and as much of a relationship with their parents as possible.
“There are many of you out there — and I was one of them — but it doesn’t have to define you,” Kaeppeler told The Associated Press after winning the crown and $50,000 scholarship on Saturday night.
Too many young people look for excuse to screw up with their life blaming their parents. Also, well done girl! You are a good exemple for young women growing up in troubled family.

Lynn Hirschberg: Which movie has made you cry?
Brad Pitt: I’m not much of a crier at films, but there was one…I was coming back from Cabo on my way to Montreal, and I got hit with Montezuma’s revenge. I could not keep anything down. I was stuck in a hotel room with no windows and was just doing what you do when you’re sick. On day two of this extremely painful episode, I watched a film called Life as a House. Kevin Kline is an architect and learns he has terminal cancer. He’s estranged from his teenage son and decides they’re going to finish this house. I don’t know if it would still hit me the same way, but on my 27th hour of pure wretchedness, this movie just crushed me. I should watch it again to see if it has the same effect.
Have your parents seen you die in a movie?
They would have had to. I die really well, by the way. It’s one of my strong points. I just take a bullet well.
Do you have trouble watching yourself die?
God, no. I’m just checking the boxes. Hit that. Missed that. Hit that moment. Missed that one. God, I’d like to do that one again.
Do you really have characters that you’d like to do over?
Um…the first 12 years of my career, I would think.
No!
Okay…first 11 years.
What was the first role you auditioned for?
My agent sent me out for two films: One of them was The Accused with Jodie Foster. I was so excited.
Did you go out for the part of the rapist?
Probably not. With this face, I was probably up for the guy with the conscience. I called up afterward and asked, “How did I do?” There were three seconds of silence and then: “Have you ever thought about acting classes?”
