Ines, I LOVE the national costume of Miss Japan! Elegant, classy, and has meaning when it comes to “national costume”. There are some national costumes that dont explain their country or how it relates to the country. Japan & Philippines are the best.

I gave my vote to Jamaica, Venezuela, and Japan.
Not only are they beautiful, but I could find out their charming personality through the interview. I think Jamaica and Venezuela had the best interview as far as I’ve watched.
I agree with you Ines, I was expecting much better for Ireland and France in their interviews since they were my favorites in terms of beauty, but too bad they were both SO boring….!! Interview of USA is cute, but didn’t see elegance or smartness, sophistication in her talks.
Venezuela’s national costume has gone GAGA!!! haha =) but this charming girl is still one of my favorites.

Seriously, can someone please explain the meaning of this costume? To me, she only has a fan, a candy cane behind her and is wearing a dress that supposedly embodies fashion. But how is that a national costume?

this is what ines seems to do with regard to the national costume for Japan…

she takes a designer outfit (or something close to it) previously worn by a runway model. she then twists the outfit by adding accessories to the outfit to make it appear “japanese” like a fan or sword, for example…

it seems to be a pattern for Ines. no originality whatsoever. and unfortunately, not very japanese either.

I think her costume is breathtaking. It is traditional in fabric but executed in a modern and stylish way. I love how it is so ‘outside the box’.

I think Maiko is very strong this year. I know people keep comparing her to Riyo. However, I think Maiko looks a lot more sophisticated and elegant. She doesn’t have the youthful spunk of Riyo, but there’s a subtle confidence about her that I find very appealing. Good luck!
