MY DUBAI EXPERIENCE
Dubai famous landmarks
The Burj Al Arab is regarded as some of the world’s most extravagant hotel. Its magnificent design which resembles a billowing sail dominates the Dubai coastline. At night, it is displayed with choreographed color sculptures of water and fire. The hotel offers only huge suite of one or two bedrooms.
Their services include a chauffeur driven Rolls Royce, a private reception desk on each floor, discreet in-suite check in, and professional butlers who are provide around-the clock attention. This hotel is a unique place to stay, as you feel you have entered a fantasy world. But this does not end here.
Their unique restaurants have menus from all across the world and with their wide renown culinary team, it truly is an appetizing experience. In addition to this, since they are located at the Dubai Coastline, their beaches are magnificent with their white sand beaches and blue waters.
I stayed at The Madinat Jumeirah Al Qasr , designed to emulate a Sheikh’s summer residence, it is in the centre of the Madinat Jumeirah, The Arabian Resort.
The hotel is surrounded by impressive Arabian domes and a network of waterways, where water taxis transport guests from their room to the restaurants and the 1 km sandy beach. Our rooms were very spacious and luxurious and we had our own villa, with Emiko and the other country representatives, with it own reception desk and butler. Fantastic!
Meet the most expensive horses in the world!
Visiting the Royal stables, and meeting some of HH Sheik Mohammed, the United Arab Emirates Prime Minister, incredibly beautiful racing horses. His Hightness is the biggest private owner of race horses in the world, Sheikh Mohammed has earned international recognition as a horse owner, as evidenced by the Special Eclipse Award he received in 2001. What is not so widely known is that he is also an exceptionally gifted rider.
Where the horses are washed, the head of Sheik Mohammed’s stables.
The swimming pool for the racing horses, spectacular… the Royal stables are located in the middle of the city, and it is surrounded by giant buildings everywhere which gives a very unique picture of the site.
The Burj Kahlifa is the tallest skyscraper in the world. In a breathtaking design, which encompasses the makings of a small city in its interior,we had to walk through a stunning shoppoing mall and restaurants, to arrive at the feet of it and be able to get into the elevator thatshoot us to the top. We went to the top in a record 60 seconds, it was so fast that my ears popped out 7 times! The Burj Kahlifa is now the center piece of Dubai’s new Dubaitown District.
DUBAI NEWS!
Armani opens its first design hotel at the Burj Khalifa, for March 18. Meanwhile, Elie Saab has announced one for next year, and now Karl Lagerfeld and Victoria Beckham
are rumored to be involved in a luxury hotel project here . According to the Daily Mirror, rumor has it that Spice-Girl-turned-designer Victoria Beckham has been offered £25 million (almost €29 million) to design rooms and staff uniforms.
The World –
An archipelago of 300 manmade islands off the coast of Dubai, created from sand dredged from the sea. The World is a landmark for future eco-tourism projects worldwide. The World is one of several tourist and commerce related projects off the coast of Dubai which can be seen from space or now from the Burj Kahlifa tower.
Visiting the old city, the new trends and the souks
Emiko Ohmori, my pretty-assistant, and outrageously…a made of pure-silver Audi!
With the other National Representatives, we were offered tea by a joyful gentleman at the entrance of the old city with its interesting little museums/boutique-hotels. Everywhere it is peaceful, clean, artistically and creatively stimulating.
Photos taken By Emiko…. I am such a poser! I have always been, my father used to take pictures of me all my childhood and he was always telling me to pose! My Dad created a monster…. I just love the camera, I always did. Indeed, I like the architeture of a body, its line, the energy that can be captured in an instant. It is never myself that I see as an end result but instead I see a form, a silhoutette, a story, an angle, a message, a woman alive and a free spirit…
Meydan – The world’s racing capital.
Meydan Grandstand and Racecourse is the brainchild of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. It is the culmination of his vision to create not just the ultimate venue for horseracing, but also an integrated city that is sustainable, environmentally responsible and also one that positions Dubai at the centre of the competitive global business stage.
We were given a private tour of the racecourse and hospitality facilities such as the Parade Ring, and the Grandstand Corporate Suites. I have been to racecourses around the world, among which The Hippodrome de Longchamp in France and The Happy Valley racecourse in Hong Kong but this was so much bigger! The screen below is above 700 meters long!

My new challenge Polo! It is without a doubt one of the most exciting sports in the world. No other game combines the grace of equestrian pursuits and the skill of a ball game with such thrilling results. The athletic ability of the rider and the power of his mount come together as two teams of four battle for supremacy on the field. Speed, agility, strategy and of course goals, Polo packs it all into 4 pulsating chukkas!
Often called the Sport of Kings, the game continues to enjoy a strong following amongst the world’s royalty. Whether it is played on the green fields of England, the rolling Pampas in Argentina or under the blue skies of Dubai, the rich and famous are always in attendance. I will take photos while playing it when I am back. You should travel to Dubai to enjoy all the sports that it has to offer.
I will be back for THE DUBAI WORLD CUP AT THE END OF MARCH.
I will also experience the camel racing, dune driving and desert safari as we were in meetings non-stop and I did not have the time to enjoy it.
By for now, ines

HOW TO STAY YOUNG -
HOW TO STAY YOUNG -
1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay ‘them’.
2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.
3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. ‘An idle mind is the devil’s workshop.’
4. Enjoy the simple things.
5. Laugh – often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.
7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it’s family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.
8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
9. Don’t take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.
10. Tell the people you love – that you love them, every chance you get.
AND ALWAYS REMEMBER: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but, by the moments that take our breath away.

DO YOU HAVE A PERSONAL STORY THAT COULD HELP RALPH?

DO YOU HAVE A PERSONAL STORY THAT COULD HELP RALPH?
If you do have any, please share with me. no matter any small tips, stories…… thank you
Hello Ines
I am a Japanese who has a son Ralph who is mixed with British and he is 4 yrs old . He was born normal and happy adorable baby. But we found out that he had a brain tumor (which was able to be taken out by surgery) when he was 10 months. And he had a surgery . (We all assumed that surgery goes successful and he would get back to normal life) but it wasn’t. Japanese doctor failed and he lost his sight and my baby Ralph suddenly got to start living his life as a blind. When i heard that from the doctor, I was shocked and screamed and cried like crazy and vomited like you told. I was totally devastated.
But I searched information about blind people on internet, i realized that there are a lot of people who are blind and living in this world. That made me get power and to stand up. And above that, my baby Ralph started to get interested in music, piano and singing! He had totally started to be living his own life as a blind person. He looked so happy and singing all the time , and he was always laughing and making people around him happy.
And it seemed like he is going to grow up with 6 senses happily, and i was looking forward to watch his growth even if it was a bit unusual and hard.
It has been 2 years since that surgery.
January 16th 2008 , he suddenly got high fever and I called an ambulance to go to the hospital (it was ER because it was 4 am) but there were no doctors who is experienced and he had to wait 4 hours for a doctor to come. He had no conscious at that time already , and he started having fits while he waited…
I was dieing scared and shaking while i was waiting outside of the emergency room… I had no idea what was going on inside of the ER because they did not allow me to be in.
At about 2pm…they finally called me to come into ICU room to see my baby Ralph. I was shocked looking at him with a thick respirator and 3 lines of drip and with an oxygen mask on his face. The doctor explained to me that Ralph might have lost everything, meaning that he had lost his memories and lost his abilities to be a human being. He might not be able to wake up.
Why, Why, Why Him!! He went though all the tragedy already before and he was again living a happy life. Why this again!!
I couldn’t understand and it took me long time to admit this reality.
And now, Ralph is able to breath by himself, he has no more respirator and tubes, he is slowly recovering i hope.
But he is in coma. He cant move, talk, sit by himself, he is just lying on his bed all the time, like a new born baby . I still miss him singing laughing and touching me saying ” I love you “… I still do remember those things and I get to cry all the time. But i am also getting powerful and I keep searching information about people in a coma, every day.
Well, I’m sorry it is getting a long story ! but all I wanted to say is, thank you so much for sharing the story of your adorable son Luca. It gave me more power and made me feel secure and i appreciate this Ines.
I have been a big fan of you since I got to know you as a national director for miss universe Japan. By reading your book, now I always love your sense and personality and your respectable work !
I am so happy to know there exists some woman like you Ines!
I will not give up until I recover my son and he wakes up from coma! If you have any seminars, I would like to join it please.
Rina
