This beautiful village is well known for it’s medieval centre, it’s chateau and it’s Saturday market, is on the edge of the area known as the Vaunage.The presence of the Vidourle river attracted it’s first inhabitants as far back as several millenia. This can been confirmed by finds of flints and stone workings in caves upstream.The Emperor Tiberius, in the 1st Century constructed the main bridge over the Vidourle river into Sommieres in order to link Nimes with Toulouse or Lodeve. The original bridge was 189m long and consisted of 17 arches. Most of these arches now have been built over and make up one side of the present market square (there are medieval shops and housing over them). Only 7 arches are now visible.

In the Middle Ages, the population was drawn to the area around the chateau for refuge and protection. At this time the economy ofthe village turned towards working with skins and leathers. There were many herds of cattle in this area and the local oak trees provided the much sought after tannin needed, the Vidourle provided the plentiful water supply required. Locals now started to build their homes in roman style arcades as the Vidourle was showing some of it’s flooding characteristics. The very famous Saturday market with around 140 artisans selling their products, can be proven to date back to 1183.We will be leaving on Friday together with Hiroko and Sun (Miss Korea) for 10 days of training. Also Maquia magazine, On-Style Korean TV and NHK japanese national broadcaster will be joigning us.

photos by Jun Sato for wireimage.com サトウ ジュン（wireimage）撮影 RED CARPECT, ARRIVING AT THE IMPERIAL HOTEL, in tokyo yesterday. 昨日、東京・帝国ホテルのレッドカーペットにて Hiroko is wearing a CELINE gown with ETRO bag and chocker, (sorry SUN I forget to tell you when i had lunch with you today at Cafe Bulgari, that I borred your beaurtiful ETRO gown for the dinner last night… merci sweetie) セリーヌのドレス、エトロのバッグとチョーカーで登場したヒロコ。（サン、昨日ディナーに行く時にあなたのエトロのドレスを借りたの。ブルガリ・カフェでランチをしている時に言い忘れてしまったわ…ありがとう、スウィーティー！） At 4 pm the evening started with a piano concert which was incredible. The Princess attended the dinner, it was black tie and sponsored by Dom Perignon. It is special to welcome the Princess in the room each time, everyone stands up to show respect and remain silent until she seats down, actually you could hear a bee flying in the room. When the Princess left after the dinner, Japanese people were bowing to her, and when she walked by me and smile, as a French woman I did a reverence in front of her saying “mes hommages Princess”, (with all my respect Princess) it was like in a fairy tale! A fabulous evening. 午後4時、素晴らしいピアノ演奏からパーティーが始まりました。この日紀子様もディナーに参加されました。彼女が部屋に一歩踏み入れると全員が立ち上がり、彼女が席に着くまで誰一人言葉を発しませんでした。部屋の中をハチが飛び回っているのが聞こえたほどです。ディナーの後に彼女が部屋を去るとき、日本人の人達は皆お辞儀をしていました。ちょうど私の横を通るとき、ニッコリと微笑んでくれました。私はフランス人の女性として、“mes hommages Princess（プリンセスに全身全霊の敬意をこめて）”という言葉と共に敬礼しました。おとぎ話の様なステキな時間を過ごすことができました。 But,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, who would have guessed that only 4 hours after taking those pictures above, Hiroko would collapse by exhaustion?! We spend a few hours at the emergency room in the hospital! After many tests and X-rays, the doctor let us go home and Hiroko has been sleeping since then. I am going home to feed her and see my babies. ところが…この上の写真を撮影した4時間後、思いもよらない事が起きました…。ヒロコが疲労のせいか、床に崩れ落ちてしまったのです！私たちは病院の緊急救命室で何時間も過ごしました。レントゲンや色々な検査を受けた後ようやく帰宅する事ができ、ヒロコはそれからずっとベッドで眠っています。 I am so mad at myself, I need to be more careful and to recognize the signs earlier, before it is too late. Hiroko was drained out because we have been working non-stop shooting for TV, magazines, training and attending tons of meetings and events together. Plus Hiroko runs twice a day for an hour. Sorry Hiroko, I will protect you better from now on, you have been amazing working so hard, never complaining, YOU ARE indeed a very specail young woman. 本当に自分のことが許せませんでした。彼女のことをもっと気を付けて見ていれば…「サイン」に気付いてあげていれば…。ノン・ストップでTVや雑誌の取材を受け、トレーニングや数え切れないほどのミーティングやイベントに出席したり…加えて1時間のジョギングを1日2回こなしたり…。本当にごめんなさい、ヒロコ。これからはもっと私が気を付けて、あなたを守ってあげます。文句を言わずにハードスケジュールをこなすあなたは特別で素晴らしい女性です。 A very special thanks to my dear friends, Ricco and Virginia Deblank for staying with me at the emergency room so late in the night. The crew arrived at my home at 7 am this morning and filmed us having breakfast in our night-wear (oulala!),then getting ready, sending the boys to school, training at home, going to the office, more trainings, a full day with Hiroko in front of the camera.
